This is so not true.
Girls if diamonds are your best friend then I have to feel very, very sorry for you.
Diamonds are cold and hard and expensive. They can be the object of someones lust and an excuse for violent crime.
They are anything but your best friend.
Marilyn Monroe must have been totally deluded when she sang those words.
Expensive gifts do not bring happiness, they can do just the opposite and bring great sorrow. The reason is the person who gave the gift holds you to ransome, you feel a certain obligation to them that may cause you to continue in a relationship that is only going to make you miserable.
This may not always be the case but it so often is. I have been in some third world countries where the people have little more than the clothes they wear , yet they are intrinsically happy. There are no diamonds for them, but there are beautiful smiles and occasional gifts of flowers to bring joy to a girls heart. It is the simple things in life that make us really happy.
Being hugged by our partner or by our children. Sitting together by the beach watching the sun go down, building sandcastles, working together in the garden. These are just a few of the things that make them happy and should make all of us happy.
It is Valentines Day again next week. Many men will go out and buy expensive gifts for their girlfriends or wives. My man usually will do something quite simple but ever so loving. He will go out into the garden and cut the nicest rose he can find and place it carefully on the pillow beside me so that when I wake it is there as a symbol of his love.
Who needs diamonds? Oh yes they are beautiful, but they can also be cruel . We need to learn to be content with the simpler things in life.
I just love it when hubby says, lets go for a walk along the beach" and we walk and talk until the sun goes down then return home to share a meal.
My very best friend folks is my husband, not anything he could buy, not even all the diamonds in the world would replace that love I feel for him.
No diamonds are not a girls best friend, not at all.
They are certainly lovely to have and especially if they are given as a token of love but they should never be valued more than than the person who gave them.
I love my husband dearly and we have been married for 44 years and looking forward to many more.
It is not diamonds I want but time.
However if you must have diamonds don't pay too much for them
I have a special offer for you below, you can bless the special person in your life with a piece of jewellery featuring those wonderful, magical and sparkling stones, the diamonds.
